After curing the UV varnish printed on the substrate surface by screen printing, the LQM EVO handle the process of thermo-compressing the foil material to the varnish coating parts in one pass. This makes it possible to improve productivity and profitability while getting high-precision hot stamping effects only at the necessary points without producing special molds.
The Foil & Specialty Effects Association (FSEA) has announced that Sakurai was a Bronze level winner in its 30th Annual Gold Leaf Awards Competition during the recent FSEA Print Embellishment Conference in Indianapolis. Gold, silver and bronze winners were honored in 47 categories that utilized a wide range of digital and conventional methods of print embellishments, finishing and binding.
Sakurai’s award winning calendar used both screen printing and foil stamping techniques to create an image based on an electrical circuit board. The calendar was produced with the cooperation of Ezra Corporation for design and production and Naito Process Co. Ltd. for prepress and printing. The printing processes included screen printing on a Sakurai Maestro MS-102SD servo driven cylinder screen press plus a Natgraph FSUV110 dryer and a Sakurai LQM-105 Evolution Hot Foil Stamper.
