| In the total workflow from order receipt
to delivery in printing business, the system supports
rapid decision-making in business implementation. The
system promote the computerization of work and increased
use of integrated data-bases to enable real-time management,
and is intended to improve work-process efficiency and
eliminate various types of losses. |

SAKURAI Ace-Net enables to link all departments of the
business organization organically via a network, allowing
two-way communication between each department using the
world wide industry-standard CIP4/JDF format. The following
systems can be chosen as the Manage-ment Information System
(MIS), Printcafe from EFI, Inc.(USA), Riteinfo from Dainippon
Screen Mfg.Co.,Ltd.(Japan), Print-Sapience from Olive
Inc.(Japan). Sakurai has developed its own original interfaces
to Sakurai printing presses to the various MIS systems.SAKURAI
Interface between MIS and Machine (SIMM) is the interface
between the MIS and Sakurai printing presses. It links
the MIS to multiple printing presses, transfers work instructions
from the MIS to the printing presses, and sends operation
status information and work progress information from
the presses back to the MIS.
This system structure realizes the integrated data management
in business activities and allows work-process management
in the workflow from order receipt to delivery to be performed
in real time and visually. This in turn highlights pinch
points in the work process and isolates previously undetected
losses; we believe that these features will help streamline
business and facilitate more rapid decision-makings by
top management. |

| A vital role is performed within SAKURAI Ace-Net by
the TQSS that can be incorporated in Sakurai Oliver SI/SIP
Series offset multi-color presses. This system reduced
power consumption by shortening print stand-by time, and
provides color management centering on color density control.
A conceptual diagram of TQSS is shown in Figure 2. |

| The design area ratio is calculated
from the preview image using the industry-standard
CIP4/PPF format created using RIP to set the ink
key divergence accurately and automatically with
the optimum conversion curve. In addition to forming
a standard ink film on the ink roller, this also
minimizes the number of sheets wasted and gives
improved the labor and time for color-matching.
We believe that these features will help streamline
business and facilitate more rapid decision-makings
by top management. |

The Sakurai ColorMission
density control systems controls the overall design
color levels of printed materials. The ATD (Automaitc
color SPECTRO photometer) and MTD (Manual color
SPECTRO photometer) adjust to provide optimum color
density by scanning color bars, calculating the
difference between these and stored reference colors,
and then providing feedback on correction levels
to the printing press. |

[Ink roller temperature controller]
This device maintains the ink roller surface at a constant
temperature to minimize color density variations during
continuous operation and ensures consistent quality in
printed materials.
[Water spray function of ink roller and blanket
washing device]
A water spray function can be added to the ink roller
and blanket washing device, facilitating removal of paper
dust, etc. and improving inking.
[Automatic ink feed device]
This automatically feeds ink by detecting the remaining
ink levels in each ink tank. This minimizes the amount
of ink supplied, reducing ink loss and management labor.
